Orange Community Players (OCP) has provided quality theatrical productions in the Hillsborough community since 2005. Over the years participants have ranged from the ages of 5 to 80 as audiences have enjoyed more than 30 productions. OCP has built a strong theatre community, and our casts often include full families, and young people who have performed shows with us since they were children. We strive to create productions that both keep Golden Age musicals alive and offer opportunities for all ages and experience levels to be a part of the shows. Our performances reach nearly 1,000 community members each year. OCP is run completely by volunteers, and all members contribute time to building sets, creating costumes, crafting props, marketing shows, and helping with all aspects of production.
Mission
OCP is dedicated to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where people of all backgrounds feel respected, valued, and represented. We believe that access to the arts should not be limited by skill level, and we are devoted to including individuals of all abilities as they grow in their craft. We prioritize creating a supportive, intergenerational community where all feel encouraged to express their creativity.
Productions
OCP coordinates a large summer musical production each year, as well as The Haunting Hour each fall in partnership with the Alliance for Historic Hillsborough. Winter and spring shows are plays with a smaller cast and production team.
Leadership
OCP is led by a volunteer Board of Directors who manage the business and affairs of the organization.
