History - Orange Community Players

Our History

Orange Community Players (OCP) began in the spring of 2005 when Deryl McGuire and a few other residents decided that Hillsborough needed a theatre group to provide outstanding theatrical entertainment to the community.

From its first show HONK! to our recent summer musicals Willy Wonka and The Music Man, and Seussical, OCP has expanded its reach throughout the Triangle and welcomes participants from our larger community. Over the years participants have ranged from the ages of 5 to 80 as audiences have enjoyed more than thirty productions.

OCP also supports the annual Hillsborough Spirits Tour in conjunction with the Alliance for Historic Hillsborough, as well as smaller productions throughout the year to connect Orange County with theatrical experiences.
